[RC] puncture wound to hock - Heidi Vanderbilt

My vet is away for 3 weeks, and it's the holiday anyway. We live WAY out in the country

My 2 year old filly has a puncture wound to her hock. It's on the inside, synovial fluid has soaked that leg and the other. The hock is swollen and she's lame. i gave her 11/2 grams bute and 10 ccs penicillin. She just flipped out when I tried to clean her up and I didn't want to risk any more injuries, so I quit hosing her and gave up on Betadine.

She's current on her shots.

is there a vet out there who could let me know if i should do something else tonight?

Thanks.

heidi
