[RC] selenium toxicity-cost of testing - Suzanne Boyd

Had mine done at Michigan State. I believe they are still considered the premier lab for equine whole blood selenium testing. It was $15/horse. I think I saw where they raised their prices 10% this year. I just had my vet pull an extra purple tube(edta) when drawing blood for yearly Coggins. I work in a hospital lab, so I have the advantage of having access to biohazard bags, dry ice, styrofoam blood mailers, etc. But, they seemed really helpful,,,,I bet if you call them they can tell you just how to send the specimen. Now I can't remember what questions I had, but they put me right thru to the lead tech that runs the test to get my answers. If you need more info, I could probably locate my info/results.
