Re: [RC] Obstacle design & training - CTR - rides2far

on design & building of various obstacles that might help
train/proof a
horse for the various things we run into along endurance or CTR

When I bought Gunner his owner told me she'd shown him in local
horseshows in the trail classes "putting on raincoats, crossing bridges,
etc" and that he'd won ribbons. Didn't think much about it till I took
him to his first ride and thought I'd try to get him on the SERA scales.
Led him up and it was like a game, he couldn't wait to hop up on it. I
was so shocked but then realized it must look a lot like their little
fake bridges. What a pleasant surprise. :-)) So there's my
recommendation. Teach him to hop up on a platform of some sort. However,
make sure it will hold a horse!
