Re: [RC] chicago screws - Elana Riedel

I've had a couple of instances where my bridle Chicago screws have worked loose. Fortunately, my mare is calm enough that I didn't even notice that I had lost the screw until I looked down and wondered what that little flapping piece of leather was. She carried her bit like she didn't notice the difference. After those incidents, I went to the tack store and bought a small bag of replacement Chicago screws which I carry in my trail bags. Since I've been carrying the spare screws, I've never had to use one <Murphy's law> but I've given out plenty to fellow riders on the trail. And let me tell you, giving out spare Chicago screws on the trail is a great way to make new friends!

All my hackamores are made with chicago screws- I like them .... if the hardware breaks I can fix it myself!! In two years I have had no problems- has anyone in RC had problems??
Now I am all worried!!!!!!!!!! I hate that about rc. :-0  :-)
