Actually, it also occurred to me after I posted that these are mid-sized bales, not ton bales.  So I'd put three out for 15 head, because otherwise they'll be gone in a jiffy.  At 20 lbs per horse per day, a 400# bale is only just a little over a day's feed for 15 head, unless they have considerable pasture to go with it.

That's a good point, Heidi...with 15 horses, the lower ranking ones are gonna have a hard time getting to the groceries.  Plus, they'll mow through that one bale in no time.
