Re: [RC] Tent Camping & Safety - Diane Trefethen

Think about it: You're all snug in your sleeping bag,
in your ultra-lite tent, and somebody's super-fit endurance horse
is loose in camp... In a tent, youu are literally
a HUGE target for that horse to spook at, and step through your tent, and literally on you! --Having been in the hospital from a horse

I do agree with the safety issues. So, perhaps there are some more
helpful suggestions out there for folks that do need to go the tent
route but want to be safe

I'm all for safety but it's reality check time. I've been at about 30 rides as a rider or volunteer, mostly in a tent, and neither I nor anyone else at those rides was harmed by a loose horse. Let's hear from everyone who's been around a tent at a ride and a loose horse has stepped on someone in that tent... and how many rides you were at where no one IN a tent was hurt.
