Sorry, I don't agree with this concept at all. You pay your money and take your chances, and if you don't finish the first time, you try again. Ride the way described below, and what is the purpose of making any further attempts at reaching the goal, if the ride is always awarded for the miles finished. If AERC adopts this policy, I'm going to terminate my membership.

AERC should award completions of miles completed even though the 50 was entered and only 25 got done. Aerc should award completions of miles completed even though 100 was entered and only 50 or 75 got done. Of course, the horse has to be fit to continue at ALL times. Then, all riders paying ride management dollars to ride the ride, will be successful in their attempt at their chosen distance. There are no losers and everyone has a successful measurable outcome. Drive home with credited miles rode and feeling more tolerable of the $$$$paid to get there. Buddy
