[RC] Gates & Pet Peeves - WRSINOSKY

I was a bit surprised by alot of the animosity regarding people drafting and whatnot. Guess I'm in my own little world (surprise) and hadn't noticed alot of this stuff going on.

For the record, I have never meant to push myself on any other riders when I joined up with them for awhile. I think I've asked if it was okay to join them, but perhaps I didn't. If so, and you didn't want me there, I apologize and will remember to ask next time.   Also, I had this strange idea that if I joined someone on the trail, it would be rude to ride ahead later on, like at a water stop where Doimas wanted to keep going. Hmm.  Guess I'll start asking about that too.

Bottom line:  I don't want to offend anybody out there and try my utmost not to be rude.

In the matter of gates.  Jeez!  I cannot BELIEVE someone would blast thru after you've drug that blasted barbed wire gate to the side.  I've always felt if I'm there first and open the gate and you are coming up behind me, it is okay to call out to you that I will leave the gate open and you will close it.  That to me is very fair.  And when I ride with people, we always take turns about opening and closing the gates. One time I open and close. Next time somebody else does. And so on down the line.  Guess I've been lucky, but I've never had some knothead just use me as their own personal doorman.  I have had people see me coming and quickly shut the gate so I got to struggle with it alone. That is just about as rude.
