==========================================

It's much easier to hang behind someone than to play leap-frog. I have a very
competative mare that would kill herself to pass riders and I am trying to get
her to listen to me more. Usually I will tell riders that I am not racing
them, and if I stay behind them for a while it dosn't mean that I am going to
pass them on the last mile. If they don't want me around I usually get the
cold shoulder and I hang back at the first grassy spot or water tank and let
them go. I figure it's their loss if they don't want to get to know me. I
"race" about one ride a year and I usually tell other riders I am doing this.
The biggest thing is just to communicate with people what you are doing. I'm
pretty much out there to have fun, and if there is some picky crabby person out
there I don't want to spend any time with them anyway.
