[RC] Riding Alone - Suzy Ticer

As others have said, riding alone is good for your soul as well as good for your horse. I think there is more bonding between you and your horse when you ride alone, they pay more attention to you. It also teaches the horse that it is OK to be away from other horses. I , of course, would not ride alone with a new to me horse or one that is very green.

I also take proper precautions, telling someone which route you are taking and how long you will be gone, carry a cell phone and water etc. And as someone has already said and like I tell my mom and dad, being killed on a horse would not be a bad way to go.

I have had to ride alone recently, because my husband, John, had neck surgery and can't ride for a couple of months. (I know this is killing him, he is definitely going through riding withdrawal symptoms.) I have to ride his horse, Toby, and my horse, Kidd, to keep them in shape. The only thing I here from him is that What took you so long, it should not take an hour and 10 minutes to do 10 miles Speed it up and don't turn my horse into a sissy horse!!!! Like that could ever happen with Toby!!

Hope to see everyone at the Hog Scramble . We really have missed competing and seeing everyone this season. I will be riding Toby, and Nicole, our daughter will be riding Kidd. And we will all see what kind of crew John will be?
