Simply beautiful. I have never cared for poetry but this and the others I
have read on Ridecamp that speak to the loss of a horse (I have lost
several) have really expressed how I feel. Thanks for the words, I could
never have written them myself.

   And , I can say   -  I have seen "It" happen, though may take  'a while'.... ( ..person  - I  'knew'  shot one of one of my dogs - ....   A   couple years - later - fell, off a roof  - broke his neck......Bummer.  ..
   another dog shot - by same group   - 'called'   them selves-  "hunters" , == his - father - was cutting trees,... tree - 'kinda  jumped'  back on him, - well, unfortunate 'accident' - killed him.  I do believe in "karma".  .......Hmm, 'no bad deed' - goes unpunished......  : )

I know you'll give him tenderness and love will bloom each day,
and for the happiness you've known, forever grateful stay
But should I come and call for him much sooner than you'd planned,
you'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and someday, understand.
