[RC] Cleaning Aluminum Trailers - Susan Favro

I have a Silverlite with extruded aluminum. It’s not the high sheen aluminum, it has more of a burnished look to it. I use 0000 steel wool on the aluminum and it does a fantastic job. It doesn’t take a lot of elbow grease, but it sure seems like there’s a lot of extruded aluminum on my trailer when I’m standing there with a little wad of steel wool! The acid wash can potentially pit the aluminum if those applying it don’t use it correctly.

For bugs I’ve used Bug Be Gone. It works better if the trailer metal is cool (versus having cooked in the sun all afternoon).
