[RC] Horse Slaughter - Amy CieriTiffany, I don't know why you are so confounded by hearing about this blind mare. You said you saw it with your own eyes when you worked with AHRN. Certainly not my way of doing things either but you know people are are cruel, even to their own precious children.
I've been to the killer pens, I'm not naive. It's ugly but there's a reason the pens are there. We need them.
On a good note, many horses are saved from the pens because someone saw something special in that eye or saw a skeletal frame that showed promise if it filled out.
We can't save the world but we can change how we do things. Provide the death row horses with a meal, give them a drink, transport them safely so the babies and elderly aren't trampled and give them room to hold their heads up one last time.
