[RC] Levothyroxine - victoria thompson

Levothyroxine is produced by the thyroid gland. When it isn't producing enough you become hypothyroid. Taking Levothyroxine orally is simply replacing what your body is not making - it is not a drug and there is no reason to stop taking it before a race. It does not test as anything other than the normal hormone the thyroid makes.

The only thing that pisses me off about animals taking Levothyroxine is it's the exact same med that I take as well. Dogs even get the same pill I take. It needs to be called something else for animals <g>. It rankles my finely honed sensibilities - just like people that drink gin martinis :-))
