[RC] tail rubbing - Ann Blankenship

Regarding tail rubbing, I don’t know if you have flies or midges or anything like that annoying your horses at this time of year, but my horses rub their tails when they are bothered by flying insects.  I’ve found that if I can keep the bugs off of them, they don’t rub.  Don’t know if there’s anything like that going on with yours in this wet, wet year, but worth thinking about.  I’ve also found that it helps if I put something like Vaseline on their ‘opening’ and on the underside of the tail.  Probably not relevant at this time of year, but just suggestions if the worming doesn’t help.
