[RC] Rider weight - Equus Wolf

I've been reading these posts on rider weight and "abuse" and just thought I would add one more thing.  Condition of the horse does make a difference, but the balance of the rider makes a difference as well.
I am, what you would call, well into the heavyweight division, and with tack will probably always fall in the heavyweight division (hopefully now have thyroid/hormone issues worked out.)
My TB mare has a sensitive back and I won't let anyone ride her that weighs 80lbs less than I do if they aren't a balanced rider.  She just can't tolerate the bouncing and moving around.  I have been asked to work smaller horses and there have been times I have used round pen and lunging work to get the horse using it's body well first so that my weight alone would not create an issue.  I am always very conscious of my weight.
I chose Shelby because of this..  She has a much larger bone frame and build than my TB, though her muscle is not the huge bulky muscle of "halter" type Paints or QH.

I have seen larger balanced riders affect a horse much less than a lighter unbalanced rider.

Excuse the rambling, it's late!
