My trailer is 14 foot long and, like yours, has a hugh dressing area in front
and the back tack area.I love it and wouldnt part with it either. Our truck is
same as yours, only a diesel. We have a 91/2 foot truck camper and have hauled
all over the USA and crossed the Rockies many times. We never had a power
problem or swaying. You will need a hitch extension and weight distribution
hitch with stabilizer bars. A reliable horse trailer and or RV dealer can fix
you up with that. You will need to be more careful about backing up. If you
jackknife, you can hit the trailer with the 9 1/2 foot camper pretty easy. With
an 81/2 or 8 foot camper you would not need the hitch extension and can
maneuver it a little more easily. We have had both sizes of campers. The 8 or
81/2 foot camper is pretty tight living quarters even just for 2 people but is
fine for a weekend. We like the extra roominess of the 91/2 foot, especially on
longer trips. Good Luck.
