Re: [RC] [RC] Oats - Lynne Glazer

We're using about an ounce per horse of unground flax seed with similar results, the "poop birds" do a great job for us. Yellow breasted with black streaks, long skinny beaks, otherwise gray birds-- anyone know what they are? The result is perfect gardening manure, light and fluffy. Still using fly parasites though.

A vet told me that he always fed whole oats so that
the birds would pick through the manure to get the oats,
which broke up and spread the manure out. He swore that
it decreased the number of flies on his place (he bred
thoroughbreds) and parasites were non-exsistant in his
brood mare band. Patty
