Re: [RC] How Long is Your Commute? - rdcarrie

Mine is 22 or 23 miles one way, all on good 2-lane paved roads, mostly through the National Forest.  Takes me about 25 minutes, since I have a few intersections.  Except for days like today.  Saw a big striped skunk foraging along the road, so stopped to try and see what it was eating (first one I've seen doing this since last fall).  Approached to within 10 feet, but still couldn't figure out if it was digging up grubs or grass roots.  Went on, and saw a black fox squirrel run across the road.  Most "black" ones just have a black (rather than red) belly, and are charcoal (rather than light gray) on top...this one was coal black all over.  Got a good look at him when I stopped.  Gorgeous.  Then where the road crossed the lake, I saw a road killed animal...looked like a young otter.  Turned around to see if the skull was salvageable...alas, it had been crushed.  Finally made it to work.  Needless to say, I was a bit late this morning.  ; <G>  Some days there are just too many distractions for a wildlife biologist!  LOL

Subject: [RC] How Long is Your Commute?

For those that work out of their homes (lucky you if
you can work from home...G) how long of a commute do
you have? Or what is the maximum commute you would
consider to have your own property to keep your horses
at home with you?
Thanks,
Val (looking at properties)
