Re: [RC] Heart Monitor - Belt vs. Electrodes - matt medeiros

I use the electrodes when riding(one goes next to the heart<left)(the other goes under the saddle pad just to the right of the wither and back2-6 inches depending on the horse) I have no problems with slipping, only time of panic 250 or more panic 0.This usually means the girth is loose or an electrode has decided to exit. The sending unit gets mounted on the breast plate of whichever side I  put the watch on that day.

I use the belt at the vet checks,I can be doing other things and still monitor horses heart rate from a distance.
I like to take the tack off when I come into the vet checks so the electrodes go with the saddle.

The belt transmitter is the "sending unit". I have had different
sending belts and different watches, (I use this stuff for triathlon
training) some of the sending belts have batteries, but polars does
not. The unit on the right hand side of teh pic you sent is actually a
human chest strap sending unit that is being held on the horse via a
really long belt. I could mimic that but I used it on the base of
his neck just north of his withers. My reading was on and off and I got
the wierd numbers.
Thank you for your help
