[RC] Vet Check Holds - Aaron Turnage

Athought I haven't ever seen (or heard) of a VET check in the West (Reno-area) that wasn't a gate into a hold, I have been to several rides where there was a HOLD only.  No vet check, but just a specified hold (usually 15 min or less).  The rides that I've been to that had these had a long loop (20 miles+) and the hold was used as an easy way to mandate a break without having to staff a full out check, just a couple of people to time in and out.  One that I can think of the horses had to meet P&R before leaving (not before time starting like a gate), the others were just a straight hold.  No P&R check was done.  Heck on those long loops out this way we often take 5 - 10 mins at water anyways because that's the only water and only hay/vegetation you'll often find until the next trucked in supply.
