Re: [RC] portable corral strategies (was "sharing happiness") - Sharon Levasseur

I did think of one issue all on my own, and it has to do with setup strategies.

Here's my trailer:

My spare tire is on the right side of the trailer, the rear door opens with the
hinges on the right, and the access door for the front (tack) stall is on the
right. The reel for the fence will attach to the trailer, but the other end of
the fence will be attached to an endpost which can be placed anywhere. I'd been
thinking I'd attach the reel at the front of the left side, which would enable
an L-shaped corral giving my horse access to the rear stall of the trailer if I
decided to leave the back door open.

The problem is, I'd still need to tie him to the RIGHT side of the trailer for
tacking up.

Ridecamps are usually pretty crowded. How often will I find myself in the
position where I can't get an appropriate amount of space on both sides of my
trailer? I used to have HiTies attached on both sides of my old trailer, and I
could always find room in camp for that, so does that mean I'll be fine with
this setup too?

The *real* question for this group is... will other ridecampers skin my hide out
of general principle? :-p

Thanks,
-Sharon L.
