Re: [RC] Chevy Ad - Laney Humphrey

Kat, I definitely did NOT say that Bruce is "the modern day equivalent of Adolph Hitler!" I said that not standing up for what one believes in or knows to be true is what allowed Hitler to come to power!
I agree that no one should respond to the Chevy ad unless they have seen it because that would be going off half cocked. Also, it is Joanne that is urging people to jump in and join her, not me.
I think you should reread Bruce's post as well as mine because he did not say "don't be too quick to take offence if none is meant." He said that he was going to "reserve less time for 'taking offense' and more time for appreciation."
And, finally, yes, I will admit that I am biased and see nothing wrong with being so. I invite anyone else who has seen the ad and who is similarly biased to make their feelings known to whomever they care to.

For those of you following this thread----I just posted my
letter together with some endurance references on the Western
Horseman bulletin boards---jump and and join me.

Please, please, please, don't jump in and join anybody unless you have
actually SEEN the ad and have indeed found it offensive. To do
otherwise would be to go off half-cocked.

Realize that the original post about the ad came from somebody who
appears to have a huge chip on her shoulder about "tall, white males"
since she read into Bruce Weary's "don't be too quick to take offence if
none is meant" that he was the modern day equivalent of Adolph
Hitler?????

_I_ won't be making any comments about the ad itself unless I have seen
it. I am not saying that the ad doesn't exist and that it isn't
ill-conceived and/or sexist, but don't assume that it will be to you
just because it is to one obviously biased other person. Reports here
from other people who DO have the same issue of Western Horseman do not
entirely concur; whether this is because Chevy ran different versions of
the ad in different places or because different people see the same
thing in different ways is unclear.
