[RC] Knee Pain - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

I just went to my dr. for knee pain and he
said my kneecap isn't moving straight and
prescribed some quad strengthening exercises
which are really simple (can be done sitting on
the floor while watching TV) and so far seem to
help. I think the thing to do is find out what's
wrong with you first. Hopefully you have a
good dr. and you can go in and say, "look, I know
all this distance riding isn't helping things,
but my knee hurts, so what's wrong, what can I do
about it, and will it get worse?" The treatment
will vary depending on what's wrong (I've also had
acute tendonitis of the knee, which I know darn well is
from too much posting and goes away with rest.)

You can also make sure your knee isn't in the same
position for too long by having freely swinging/twisting
stirrup leathers, changing stirrup lengths, getting off
and walking, and GETTING OUT OF THE CAR once in a while
when driving to/from the ride.

If you don't have creaky knees, thank your lucky stars!
