Barbara, I'm late on this thread....do your drag riders pull ribbons as they go?  I think that is a very dangerous thing to do because years ago when we used to do that for our NATRC ride here in Santa Ynez, we actually had a rider get lost way behind the drag riders.  She finally made her way in way after dark and after much frantic searching (at least we KNEW she was missing), but if she'd had ribbons to follow she'd only have been late and not scared to death.  We NEVER have our drag riders pull ribbons based on that one experience.  It only takes one....
