Re: [RC] collection question - Tiffany D'Virgilio

That's all I use. I find my Arab's mouths to be small, seems like a regular snaffle jabs the roof of their mouths and they fuss. They carry a french link or Myler very comfortably. Now I ride one in an S-hack as well. I'm a sucker-we so rarely have this much lush grass in SoCal that I let her graze when I can.

That's my preference for our endurance horses as well. The only one that
is in a "harsher" bit is the 18-year-old who was a 4-H horse for years and
years and learned how to tune out hands--he goes just fine in a
short-shanked solid port mouth Hartwell pelham, and I understand was
ridden in a Kimberwicke prior to our riding him. (Actually, after a
couple of years of endurance, I think he would be fine back in the French
snaffle, but he's used to the pelham and it's "his" bridle now, so I don't
make him change.)
