Well give me a break. Flat track racing has controls and has had for far
longer than AERC has been around. They too take good care of their horses.
There are "bad" owners, trainers, and riders in both sports. Don't tell me
that there has never been a case of equine mortality in an AERC sponsored
endurance race. Some differences are that there are many more flat track races
in a given year and they are running at a considerably greater speed(and they
are on TV). Any time a horse is more than a yard ornament(and even then too)
there is a chance of injury or death.
Enjoy your horses, but keep your head on straight, and don't point fingers.
