Buffalo Buck AERC #14217 retired with 3070 AERC miles. He is owned and was ridden by Larry Lunde. He is a truely a remarkable horse. I looked up his records and found that he did have 3 50 mile rides that were relatively fast. 4:37, 4:46, and 4:30. These rides were, of course, flat. The first he finished 4th of 4 in 4:37. The first place was 4:23 The second he finished 11 of 17 in 4:46. The first place was 4:10 The second he finished 7th of 8 in 4:30. The first place was 4:25. (I don't believe the official times on this ride, each placing is separated by one minute from the preceeding one just to neat) This record does show that Spanish Mustangs can move out at a pretty good pace under the right circumstances.
