Re: [RC] Longivity in Endurance Horses - rides2far

BTW, was gently reminded of one more CMK horse among those with
longevity--and that's the Perfect 10 Kahlil Khai! (Boy howdy, was
the
head cold and the Benadryl sapping my memory last night or what??)

I wasn't especially clear in my poston longevity...didn't mean Les Carr's
horses were not endurance bred, it was just somebody had mentioned his
name. He's an example I think of a person who has longevity as the
*primary* goal from the beginning whereas most of us tend to hope for a
horse who will get us on down the trail pretty quickly, and *hope* that
it has longevity. Thus, a horse that Les rides may last through more
miles more because of the way it's ridden than so much because of the way
it was bred. Kahlil is the perfect example of a horse that had longevity
despite being ridden up front.

I am going to meet a woman Monday who was given my name as "a lady who
actually *does* endurance!" She's got a couple of mustangs and I hope to
mentor her into the sport. She's all excited about it, so I've been
trying to pay special attention to these posts that mention mustangs,
etc.
