Hi Jennifer -
How about a small hand crank "meat" grinder (the old fashioned kind <g>).
I think I've seen them at ACE hardware and/or the "Table Talk" type stores.
(And an easy way to "clean" so flax oil residue doesn't build up is to run a
little oatmeal through  - I do this with my electric coffee grinder)

Does anybody know if there are any decent battery-powered seed- or
coffee-grinders on the market?

(for those of us who want to start grinding our flax but do not have handy
electricity at our barns)

I've tried googling, but so far no luck.
