[RC] Questions on 'new' horse - Nikki McCormack

I just purchased a Spanish Mustang gelding for my husband. We bought him with a 1 week contingency in the sale agreement so that we could try him out and see how he moves out with my little arab. The horse has a great attitude. He is level headed on the ground and is much like a bulldozer out on the trail. My one concern is that, on the vet check, she mentioned that he was slightly knock kneed on the right front and swings out a bit with that leg when moving. She recommended working him hard and looking for signs of lameness. We have done so and have not yet seen a problem.

My question is, have other horses performed well with this kind of a conformation issue? I don't expect that he will ever do much more than 50 since my husband is not as 'in to' riding as I am, but I would like to have him be able to some 50s with my arab and I.

Oh, and we currently have a breeding stock paint mare up for sale. She is an awesome horse, but we are selling her because we simply cannot ride together with her and my arab. If you know anyone who might be interested, point them my way.

Thanks!
Nikki (in Washington)
