When I used to pony Cheers a lot, I'd use a "Be Nice" halter. He
would try to bite my knee, and when I'd yell, he'd jerk his head back and
try to stop. The Be Nice works with pressure over the poll and nose, and
releases as soon as the horse moves forward, unlike a chain.
