[RC] solar - Steve Shaw

I have had a good and cheap 15 watt (not volt) solar panel on my trailer for about 3 years. I have not had to ever charge the battery in that time and it has totally met all of my 12 volt needs.
I am putting the same unit on a remote property to charge batteries and run 12 volt things. I have been told that as long as I run a number 12 or number 14 wire (depending on my distance) that the panel will charge a battery for my limited and conservative use. I have about 50 yards from the sun area to the trailer parking. I think and hope that this will work and will work on the irrigation that I hope to do up there.
