[RC] Newbie Questions - rides2far

If that is not possible find a ride
that has a controlled start,

I've been in some pretty hairy controlled starts. Too many antsy excited
front running horses crammed up behind a slow pace horse, crowded,
bumping, riders trying to calm them down...really hated it. Not the
people's fault, just that the horses know what's up and want to get on
with it. If I was at a big ride with a controlled start I'd definately
just wait and leave late. Let them get out there and spread out before I
got in the middle of it.

I do like having a pace horse that knows the trail start off in front of
the 100's in the dark though. There's fewer horses and they're relaxed so
maybe it works better at smaller rides.
