Fw: [RC] Horse Color, white socks - Dot Wiggins

Can you see the hooves in the picture?    Even in light colored horses the
hooves are darker without socks.
Are all four hooves the same color on the mare?   One of my palomino horses
had four light hooves but the white hair was only at the coronary band on
the front, very hard to see without clipping/wetting,  hind had socks over
the ankles.  If the hooves are darker in front  there were never any socks.
This doesn't change with age.  ( At least I've never seen it)

I would almost bet the farm...it is the foal coat on the legs.

Very hard to tell the difference in the "fawn legs" as it was just

mentioned

from thinking they are white socks or stockings.

I breed a  lot of Sabinos and I want to have long white stockings. This
years foal crop I had to really keep looking closely at the legs to
distinguish the foal colored coated legs from the actual white stockings
until several months later when they started shedding the foal coat.

Tell your friend not to hire a lawyer just yet. I am sure it was only the
fawn colored hairs of a new born she was seeing.
