RE: [RC] water tank - help - Jim Holland

The problem with that is that horses will chew on wood and can get their teeth on it to move it around.  Large plastic PVC pipe gives them nothing to grip, if they turn it over, doesn’t matter, and it’s less likely to be a problem if they step on it or kick it.

One way to make sure that the horses don't play with the heater cord that is perhaps easier than plastic pipe, is to nail 3 pieces of wood together to make a groove.  The cord can be run in the groove next to the tank and the wood attached to the tank by a big "C" clamp.
