RE: [RC] cold--cutting baling twine - heidiAnd another thing that works great is a bot knife. Just stab it in and saw! Hoof knives work well, too. The cleverest ones are the ones that the ranchers around here use when feeding large numbers of small bales to cattle (those who still do that, instead of feeding big bales with machines), and have to work fast feeding off of the back of a moving vehicle. They take old swather or mower blades (those little triangular blades with serrated edges) and spot weld them to a metal handle. Then they can just chop the string with one quick chop, and viola! it's cut!
