Re: [RC] Kristen's reply to the title WORLD championships - Sisu West RanchPlease correct me if I am wrong, but the "World Series" is a name left over from 19th Century American boasting. Supposedly, the first professional baseball team, the Cinncinati Red Stockings in 18xx had an undefeated year and therefore claimed to be the "World Champion" . Things got complicated when the upstart American league wanted to play the National League for the championship in 19xx.The point is that the WEC has nothing to do with American Professional Baseball and its propensity to brag.
