[RC] Garmin Forerunner 201 question - Jeanne Slominski

Sunday was a gorgeous day here in the San Francisco Bay area. Picked up my riding partner and had a lovely day out at Bodega Bay. Sure felt good to be back in the saddle. Took my new toy with me to try it out, a Garmin Forerunner 201. Now I'll finally know just how long the big loop is. Put the Forerunner on the pommel of my SR Enduro saddle. That way I could look at the readings while we're going along. B-I-G mistake! Horses are feeling pretty frisky. They haven't been out in quite a while. Karen's mare is spooking at just about everything. Wichita decides to join in the fun. Any way, somehow I managed to hit the Forerunner and pop it off the watch band on one side. No way I was ever going to find the pin which holds it in place. I am going to call Garmin tomorrow to see about getting a new pin. Question I have is is there any safe way to secure the unit to the saddle or must it always be worn on one's wrist?????

Thanks.
