RE: [RC] Frozen - heidiWhat often seems to happen in No. Texas, is extreme weather changes, fairly quickly. Indeed, the abrupt changes are a real pain. But I do have to say that 21 sounds heavenly. <g> We did get up to a balmy 3 briefly today, and I can't complain too loudly, as I only had -10 last night, while there were reports around me of -26 to -34. It was still enough to freeze up my chained-up feed truck (which does not have a block heater--that may have to be remedied tomorrow) but fortunately I picked up my "new toy" today--a 1968 4WD truck with an early version of a Hydra-Bed on it, for hauling and feeding round bales. I can now haul two at a time (although I'm not sure I dare take both up on my sidehill, as the back one rides awfully high--but I can leave it in the driveway and go back for it). It's an ugly old bird, but boy howdy, it sure is a treat to pick those suckers up and set them down by just working a couple of hydraulic levers up in the cab! The horses seem to be having loads of fun in the cold, but my car had to get a new battery last week, and my diesel truck is in the shop getting a new engine heater as well as two new batteries. The "old" feed truck probably needs a new battery as well, but at least it did finally start this afternoon, after all day on the charger, and its hood open and facing the sun....) The things we do for horses.... Heidi =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
