==========================================

I have a new horse in that I'm bringing back from being a pasture ornament for
the last 2 years. He's a grade arabian and energy wise much different than my
POA mare, who's no slouch in that dept.either. I board so don't have much
control over feeding. The barn manager feeds straight oats in the summer and
in the winter switches to sweet feed. I've got him on a handful of the stuff
only so he'll also get his vitamins and flax. I'd certainly like to take him
off of that and have him only on hay as he's one of those air ferns too but
other than getting several flakes of grass hay in the am and pm he's not got
24/7 access. He's not an endurance horse and will most likely end up being
sold as a dressage prospect in the spring.

So, under those circumstances and looking at Karen's chart (way cool by the
way) I'm wondering if it would be better to keep him on the sweet feed or if I
could just feed him beet pulp.
