Well said! If I am understanding what you said.

"The LD/BC system isn't really a problem for the competent experienced rider
who is truly prepared."

A newbie can be a competent experienced rider who is truly prepared. Some
newbies may have more miles at speed in a saddle than riders who have been
riding endurance for years. Some newbies can read their horse and won't over
ride it. Some newbies who lack experance will under ride their horse because
their love for their horse exceeds the lust for a win.

If you were saying LD/BC is a problem for any incompetent rider. I agree. No
matter how many AERC miles they have under their belt.

I have know riders who were more competent the first day they swung a leg over
a horse than some who have riden all their life.

I highly respect the endurance riders I have had the pleasure to have met here
in Michigan. The over all health and fitness of the horses I saw when I first
visited an endurance ride is is what drew me to the sport.

This may upset someone but, AERC didn't invent the horse.

Rob
