[RC] Half Arabs & Arab Crosses - Donna Coss

One of the most ideal crosses is the SHAGYA ARABIAN crossed with the purebred Arabian. This will give you more size, substantial bone, a more angled croup and big, round dense hooves. And always, very sane minds and good temperament. Plus, if you produce a filly, it could be the beginning of a purebred Shagya herd.
Two of our crosses were just Vet checked for pre-purchase exam and resting heart rate was about 22-24

When the breed numbers increase, I'm certain you will see more of the Shagya doing endurance or the crosses. Remember the Shagya is a breed NOT a strain of Arabian. It is not a fluke that Georgat and Fayette deCameo are of Shagya breeding! You may have to spend a few dollars more, because Shagya breeders have had the expense of importing stallions and mares from Europe. Plus you won't normally find them on their way to the sale barn, but they are worth every penny.

Another interesting fact, the Anglo/Shagya is a perfect cross! But there aren't many of these around!
