[RC] Impressive records - Jonni

Has anyone disputed this? Did I miss something?

To me, the most impressive record of ANY endurance horse, is RO Grand Sultan
+//.

He started rides in pre 1985. Last ride was in 1998. In that time, he
acquired over 10,000 AERC miles. 145 starts, 143 completions. Let that soak
in a bit folks. This horse was only pulled 2 times, in 10,000 miles of
rides. His records for pre 1985 show 400 miles. So, not sure what rides he
did. But, in 1985, he did 34 rides. 5 of those rides were 100 milers. Had
BC on 11 rides that year, and won 18 of those rides, with 11 more of them
top ten!!! (that is 29 wins or top ten out of 34 rides!) Remember, this was
early in this horses career. He continued endurance for 13 more years! He
top tenned his last two rides! How many national and WORLD championships???
I know Maryben might be able to fill that in.

This horse had something extra special. A true athlete. What made him have
the ability to RACE so many miles, and continue to give his all is what many
endurance riders would like to know. Somewhere out there, could be another
"Rio", who has that something extra. Heck, could even be in your pasture, or
could be going around and around in a show ring, never meeting it's
potential as an endurance horse.

Some great horses are made, and some are just born, and end up with the
right rider, to bring out their potential. Becky was blessed to have this
awesome horse end up with her.

You can look up his record here:

then type in RO Grand Sultan.
