[RC] [RC] All-Around Endurance Team - Dream Weaver

I didn't do a one day 100 this year, but did last year, I was too busy doing multidays, they don't schedule well together usually. I had somebody ask about riding Chief to drag ride a LD ride one day this year and well, (nobody rides him but me to begin with), but my reply is that he is an endurance horse. That's how I condition him, why would I pay $ to do that. I'm pretty sure that Dave Rabe also rode a 100 on one of the two horses that he has in the mileage category. When we asked him if he had ever done an LD (in 37,000 miles), he also replied "why would I pay to do a training ride". So I think that for the most part people who are already riding their horses on mutlidays and 100's already know how to condition them, so probably aren't doing a lot of LD rides. I sort of consider one day 50's to be conditioning rides if getting ready for an upcoming 100 or multiday. You guys can call it whatever you want, but the way I feel about it is that if you want an endurance horse, you gotta ride that horse in endurance rides -- which eventually means one day 100's, and/or multidays (I think doing a 5 day ride on the same horse is a lot more significant than doing a one day 100). I'm one of the riders who think that doing LD's on some horses is more harmful than helpful. It all depends on the horse, and the rider.
