Re: [RC] RP saddles - Avant Garde - Lysane Cree

Well, Jim Holland is riding two different horses, both in the Avant Garde model...that's two horses and two saddles anyway :)  And he has had a good experience with that model.
Maybe its not the "obvious choice" because its a dressage model rather than a "trail" model. The shorter flap on the Avant Garde seems to make it a little less "dressage" while still keeping the deep seat. I ride with a long leg/stirrup too, so I don't think round forward flaps (as in an all-purpose) is really necessary for me anyway. Doing a trial with it is probably the best way to see if that model is comfortable for you and your horse.
And with the options of adding D-rings all-around, it eliminates the problem of not having anywhere to tie stuff.

Hi  Lysane...I also was interested in this model when I was saddle
shopping. Carmi told me that there is only one person trail riding in
this saddle model ...don't know if that's necessarily a bad thing. >:}
