Re: [RC] Bob Marshall up date - Karen Sullivan

Our latest saddle adventure, well misadventure involves a Bob Marshall
treeless saddle. First I need to say the Bob Marshall saddle is not
defective, it is not poorly made. No, the saddle is beautiful! BUT THE
SADDLE DOES NOT FIT, THE POMMEL IS TOO NARROW. Due to a NEW manufacturing
process the factory is no longer able to widen the pommel ends. In plain
terms, the new pommels are plastic and are not amenable to grinding to
widen
the ends.

*Hi Nancy,

I am cc-ing the treeless discussion group....yes, that is the problem I had
with the sport
saddles, even the older models are too narrow for my current 3 horses (Arab,
Arab/QH
and mustang)...I am sorry to hear that the new pommels are a bit
narrower.....

You might want to check out the Barefoot saddles....same feel as Sport
saddle....but you are
able to play more with the pommel and cantle. Other choices are Freeform,
Startrekk, Trekker,
TreeFree or Torsion. Freeform has a flexible pommel, Startrekk has choices
of 4 different pommel widths
and the other three also have the removable pommels....

There are links to all of these on the links page of the treeless group.....

Good luck, Karen
