[RC] That'll do pig... - Patti Pankiewicz-Fuchs

Gosh if I had a dollar for everytime those bleepin' feral pigs have crossed our paths I'd be able to buy the new saddle I so desperately need. I find that their rustling in the bushes and hiding can be just as disconcerting to our horses as when they explode....well almost. ;) All of my friends and I's horses react very strongly to their smell. Though I have to say that both of my mares have darn near gotten used to them at this point as there are so many where we ride. The babies are kinda cute in an E.T. kinda way, though I usually high-tail it out of there when I see them, can't imagine the mommas are looking to show them off.

It did seem like a form of poetic justice though that at the Poker Ride I managed we served wild pig caught at the Preserve we had been riding in. I think many enjoyed that barbecue envisioning it to be *the* pig that had spooked their horse in the past.

On a side note, my pot belly owning friend and I both noticed that our pigs stayed outside in the middle of the last hurricane. (I have one very large pot-belly, don't ask) They both had a lot of yucky dried skin on their backs, dirt, etc (they're pigs!) pre-Wilma, but afterwards they were all clean and barely gross at all. Must be the piggy version of a pressure wash.
