I’m sorry, I just remembered a horse I used to have that could not walk on gravel without being ouchy if he didn’t have shoes on. The horse I have now has feet of iron.

He was absolutely fine when I saddled him that morning for a few mins and rode him on the grass and lame when we reached the vet area. And no he doesn't have soft feet, he stays barefoot year round except when we ride in very rocky areas.

I have a hard  time thinking that a horse could stone bruise just walking to the vet in  without boots on. That just seems like his feet were really  soft.
