Re: [RC] Boots and vetting in - long - Jessica Spoone-Raines

Speaking of presenting barefoot vs easyboots one thing happened last summer than highly upset me at the time. My horse was entered in the Old Dominion LD and it being my first ride at check in I asked if I should present at vet in with or without easyboots. I was told without easyboots so they could look at his hooves carefully. Well he managed to stone bruise his foot on the way to the vet in, went lame at the trot out and wasn't allowed to enter. Then I was told by the vet that I should have had his boots on him to start with. If there were rules (maybe there are) or better informed volunteers I might have been able to compete that day. It still upsets me a bit to think about it.

I ran into all sorts of rules at the rides I did this summer where the boots were concerned and am wondering if there is some way to acquire consistency on vetting and completion checks where the boots are concerned.
